Why did your family decide to attend North Carolina A&T?
A&T was always more visible and people were always so proud to attend the university. It also had a very close marching band relationship with my local high school – Hillside High School. As a historically black high school many students either attended North Carolina Central University or A&T.
How has A&T changed over the years?
According to Victor…I actually attended where the campus was undergoing a major reconstruction so I’ve seen it changed from a campus to where neighborhoods were on campus to where it’s well lit, new dorms and new infrastructure. The main thing I’ve noticed is that the school is providing the best resources to its students and this is so amazing.
A&T has grown in national presence, as someone who has lived in several states people recognize the university in high regard. I feel like the reputation is amazing.
What are the ways your family has given back to A&T?
My brothers and I started a scholarship endowment. We’ve since fulfilled our commitment of 25K and now our goal is to get this endowment to 100K over the next 5 years. We are also very well connected to our university engineering departments and fraternities who are also giving back to the school.
